Frequently Asked Questions

One of the things we were not aware of, is that when people do their research to choose the best trike for them, they do not realize the time frame needed.

When ordering it takes time for ordering the kit, receiving the kit from the manufacturer, any special options, building and painting the trike shell, proper installation of the trike kit on your bike, road testing and delivery.  Sometimes there can be some delays that happen along the way.

We hope this helps our new clients who would like a trike for the spring or summer.

Projected trike completion dates?

We at R & V give a projected date based on the date the manufacturer will have the trike kit ready to be shipped, we add to that, time for shipping, assembly, road test and delivery.

Can there be delays?

Absolutely. Fortunately there have never been delays caused by R & V. We know how much this trike means to you and we work very hard to build it the correct way and on schedule. We have driven thru blizzards and assembled trikes when a lot of people wouldn't venture out. (yes, some have questioned our sanity.) On the manufacturers end. Think of the thousand's of machined parts that go into the making of a trike, a delay in any department or from a supplier can cause this to happen. The painting and finishing are very time sensitive and critical. We have all of our Honda trikes finished with genuine OEM paint for a great match. This also can cause delays due to paint supply and finishing. To date we have only had one delay from our trike manufacturers by one week. They don't want this to happen any more than you do. It is just that you have a more personal feeling about it. I will give you an example of what has transpired on one of our own trikes. We had one shipped from California, it got lost for a couple of days, made a stop in Fargo for two days, traveled to Minneapolis, MN then to Rochester, MN and finally to Byron for delivery.

How long does it take to get used to the trike?

It usually takes from 500 to a 1000 miles for the driver to get used to it and stop fighting the steering. It takes a relaxed grip and a push pull technique, that we will be pleased to share with you. The rider will love it immediately and wonder why it wasn't done years ago. No more unsteadiness, just relax and enjoy.
