Trike or Bike

We have come up with a list of pros and cons to cruisin' on a trike rather than drivin' a two wheeler.  We thought this would give you something to think about....

After riding two wheels for over 40 years and now logging over 100,000 miles on three trike's (which included a 30 day trip to Alaska and a 10 degree ride through a Chicago blizzard on our way to Daytona's Bike Week) here are some of the Pros and Cons we could think of for owning a trike verses a two wheeler...

Reasons to Stay on Two Wheels...
  • That wonderful feeling as you approach a curve and with the slightest body shift (or was it just a thought, does this machine need any guidance?) it leans over and glides through the curve.. It doesnt get any better than this..
  • The extra cost.
  • Three wheel jokes.....(see note below)

Don't end up like this guy...

Reason's to Trike..

  • 29 inch inseam
  • Gravel
  • Sand
  • Wet Roads
  • Road Gators
  • Forest Rats
  • Stability
  • Bikes that weigh 1/2 a small car.
  • Co-rider
  • No more cramp's holding it .
  • No more off center lean and struggle to get it up right
  • Emergency stops.
  • Uneven surfaces, turns a 33 inseam into a 29 real quick
  • Co-rider can drive, you rest
  • Co-rider can have their own ride
  • Bridge grating
  • Road Seams
  • Road Edges
  • The dreaded slow right turn
  • Emergency avoidance area now wider
  • You can add your own

Note:

Trike jokes shouldn't be allowed if you've dropped your cycle in the last 12 months...(Even if it was in the garage and you didn't have a witness.)

...or if you've ever dropped it with your co-rider on...(They probably haven't let you forget it anyway.)
